I've spent my whole life on the water around the Hawaiian Islands. Long before Hawaii Yacht Group, boats weren't a business I picked up — they're how I grew up. Sailing and running the channels between the islands, racing and cruising in just about every condition Oahu can hand you. That lifetime on the water is the entire reason this brokerage exists.

On the water, all over Oahu

I've been racing since I was a kid — as a teenager I sailed in national championship regattas — and I've never really left the water since. Last year I brought the Lipton Cup home to Waikiki Yacht Club after winning it in Kaneohe Bay, I'm on the start line every summer racing out of Waikiki, and I run the Holoholo race down the North Shore and around the island. Over the years I've sailed just about every corner of Oahu — out of Ala Wai Harbor and Kewalo Basin in Honolulu, across to Hawaii Kai and Maunalua Bay, up past Haleiwa on the North Shore, and down the leeward coast off Ko Olina and Waianae.

All that time on the water is exactly what makes the difference when you're buying or selling. It's how I know what a boat can really do in Hawaii — how a hull handles Kaneohe's chop or the Kaiwi (Molokai) Channel, what survives island salt and sun, and what a vessel is honestly worth in this market.

I started Hawaii Yacht Group to do boat sales the way they should be done in the islands: pick up the phone, talk straight, and actually follow through. I also come from real estate, where that kind of professionalism and follow-through is simply the standard — and when I saw how unprofessional a lot of the boat brokers on Oahu can be, I wanted to bring that same level of service to the water.
